Quick Start Guide

Step One: Register for the site. Be assured that we won't spam you... unless you really want us to.

Step Two: Vote on stuff. Find a category that matches your area of interest or expertise, and browse the Things and Battles listed therein. If you find a Thing, determine whether it sucks or rules. In the case of Battles, figure out which of the two proposed Things rules more and sucks less. Make your choice, and then post a comment if you wish. If you are the first to do so, you get an icon next to your name. This indicates that you are closer to winning the Internets than those below you.

Step Three: Create some Things. Locate funny and/or poignant pictures on the Internet, and save them to your desktop. These can usually be found in places like Google Images and Flickr. Once you've got some, upload them to SucksOrRules, and carefully crop them (very carefully--many an image has ultimately failed because the humor has been thoughtlessly cropped out of it). Finally, think of funny and/or poignant titles and descriptions for them.

Step Four: Create Battles. Pit your Things against each other, against those created by others. The winningest Things will usually prevail.

  • 7. Random (Not sure? Just flamed your buddy with Photoshop? Use this.)
