i'm right there with you. i think some people actually get there music from the radio , which we know is the worst place to find music.

So does Eric Mongraine, it's called guitar tapping. I learned that technique about a year ago. I had to teach myself though.

I like any music as long as it is composed well, carried out with talent, and you can detect intelligence behind it. Most of this stuff that is so popular today keeps the population stupider with the sad illusion that the music is intelligent.

Have you heard of Andy McKee? He's an "internet celeb". He's a talented guitarist and he slaps the fretboard with his hands. It's fun to watch him.

Yea, LilacBiya, like I explained to BigDak, I listen to most genres. Some rap I'll listen too, IF it's not 'shoot the cops' rap. Can't stand that crap, and its bad influence on the younger generation.
There's a lot of good music out there and one musician I really like is Joe Satriani, and most of his music is labeled, "experimental instrumental." I also like Stevie Vai, who incidentally learned from Joe S., and Eric Johnson, along with Eric Clapton and there's a lot of guitarists out there I can't even begin to name them who deserve more mention right now.
My favorite is James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix, originally born Johnny Hendrix. He served with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam until he got hurt during a jump. The reason he played 'The Star Spangled Banner' the way he did, is because he "earned that right to do so." No one told him he couldn't either.
