nice battle
KW, I always thought that Wolf was good, and I have a thing for werewolf flicks. The best parts are when he is using his primal power and senses to dominate the corporate world.
the one thing that will always stick with me about The Shining is how different the ending is (book/movie)...
We're talking major differences.
In the book, he forgets to check the boiler, so, while Shelley Duval and Danny are outside fighting the hedge-sculptures the entire fucking hotel just blows to hell and back.
And the kid, the mom and the old black guy go off happily ever after, living together at another hotel/resort, far away.
Fucking nutty.
Both of them were awesome. Eastwick just happened to be on the other night and I got the idea for this battle. Jack always plays the coolest insane characters...like Anger management. When he told Sandler to walk up to Heather Graham and tell her that he just exploded in his pants or whatever...classic.
Totally agree DW. "Wolf" is my favorite Nicholson horror film, but eastwick is a close second.
Great battle! I think you're (we're) right about the better performance. Jack from The Shining is memorable, but pretty one dimensional. He's crazy as shit even before he gets to The Overlook.
Daryl Van Horne is more nuanced and human, which is ironic given that he's the Devil. The Witches of Eastwick is also an under-rated movie. Fans of the book didn't go for it, except me.
The speech that Daryl Van Horne gives about women, as he stands in front of a church congregation covered in supernatural vomit, is better than anything done by Nicholson in The Shining.
