The only saving measure for the pool party I can imagine would be if it was plugged into a ground-fault circuit interrupter type receptacle.

Yeah the surge protector does have a shut off, but whatever it's powering probally doesn't. So if that goes under and the protector stays up they'll get shocked pretty hard.

I actually just spoke with someone about this pic last weekend..I guess power chords will actually shut off when submerged in water(??) But you still get a quick ZAPP when it goes under. I'm thinking this would have been a good youtube vid.
