Sorry to revive an old topic. I hope there are no rules against this.

Anyway, the only Annette songs I like are Amaranth and Cadence of Her Last Breath. On the other hand, I have about 18 Tarja songs on my computer and MP3 player.

I can't believe the breakup is all Tarja and Marcello's fault. I have read that the other members of Nightwish disliked him simply because he wasn't Finnish. I highly doubt Tarja was "poisoned" against Nightwish.

Nightwish wanted to reach a wider audience (in other words sell out) by emulating other bands like Within Temptation. Tarja's voice isn't suited to pop music, so they make up this outrageous crap about her and kick her out.

I wish Tarja the best of luck in her solo career. I will definitely give her newer music a listen.

I would have to say that the lot of you are being completely and totally unfair. Yes, I prefer old Nightwish, but I'm not going to go slouch in a corner for the rest of eternity because, God forbid, Nightwish got a new singer.

I saw Nightwish live just yesterday, and it was the greatest night of my LIFE. Annette's wardrobe didn't distract me from the performance in any way, and the rest of the band was no different than they had been. I would also like to congratulate them for performing songs that Annette could do, because if they hadn't made those decisions, the old songs would have been butchered. So, yes, I'm saying cancelling songs was a good thing.

As for the old songs, I thought they were great! The songs performed last night were: 7 Days to the Wolves; Dead to the World; The Siren; Romanticide; Higher Than Hope Amaranth; Nemo; Sahara; The Poet and the Pendulum; The Islander; Last of the Wilds; Escapist; Dark Chest of Wonders; and Wish I Had an Angel

Needless to say, 7 Days to the Wolves, Amaranth, Sahara, Poet and the Pendulum, Islander, Last of the Wilds, and Escapist were amazing with Annette, they were written for her!

As for the songs from Once and Century Child, Dead to the World, Higher Than Hope, Dark Chest of Wonders, and Wish I Had an Angel sounded completely natural, and Nemo and The Siren (and I know I'm going to get shot for this one) sounded BETTER with Annette singing. Romanticide, I will admit, sounded much better with Tarja, but Annette did great.

Oh, and by the way, I don't want anyone complaining about the fact that they played more Dark Passion Play music, because it's the DARK PASSION PLAY tour and thus they are supposed to base their concerts around DARK PASSION PLAY.

Finally, it seems to me that some of you have NO IDEA why Tarja was kicked out of the band. She was not kicked out because "they wanted a new of music", you really have that little faith in Tuomas? Tarja was kicked out of the band because her new husband had changed her attitude about the band, and she and her husband stood in opposition to what the band stood for.

Yes, Tarja Turunen is a better singer. No, Annette Olzon is not a poor vocalist.

Anette raped and killed Nightwish, and every old Nightwish song...She's the murderer of Nightwish dream...

Annette is a good lead for what Nightwish has turned into, sure.

I'll say that any day.

But to hear her murder "Everdream" just broke my heart.

Nightwish is no longer it's glorious and beautiful former self....
it's now a toy of the latest trends in music.
They're trying to get a new fan base, so they threw Tarja out and brought Annette in.

Most die-hard Nightwish fans that I know share my disgust withe Annette singing Everdream.

She's good for their new stuff.
Her voice fits what they were going for, that's for sure.
She really draws in the "hip" kids now.

They're coming to Hungary in March, i guess but no way I'll watch them (just in case I unfortunately never saw Nighwish live). I've got their DVD and it's awesome. Well, Ever Dream can destroy when it isn't as good as supposed to be, surely. One of my favourite song from Nightwish.
I really can't say they disgust me! Throw rocks at me, I kinda like them. But I've always been a great Nightwish fan... My suggestion would be to start a project with a brand new name so judgement of Nightwish can't be changed.

The lead female vocalist they have now just makes my soul hurt.
I'm getting my rant about the latest Nightwish concert published in the upcoming Rock Royalty Magazine.

Here's a piece of it:

"Crushed that my Tarja had left Nightwish, I still remained loyal to the
band, listening to the new vocalist, Annette. Nightwish was recently in Atlanta Georgia, and I traveled several hours to see them. I got to the concert and Paradise Lost was up first. Fine...I can wait. Once Nightwish hit the stage, I was so excited...my husband just laughed at me in a very uncertain manner, and let me go on about my little happy dance. When Annette came out, I was just appalled by what she was wearing, how she had her hair done, and most of alle, her attitude. Sure, she's getting the fans more involved than Tarja did...fine. I can see that being good...but she looked like an Avril Lavigne wanna-be. I waited for her to start singing before I made my final judgment on whether or not I was going to continue listening to the
band I had so loved. She sang. Horrid in comparison to Tarja. The music was even a little different...this wasn't Nightwish! This was bullshit! I kept listening...because I'm the kind of person to give things a second chance. Then, they did the worst possible thing that I could've imagined...not even two songs in, they did "Everdream". Annette MURDERED that song. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, TUOMAS?!!? Are you an IDIOT? You don't have a NEW vocalist sing a song that has already been done by a PREVIOUS vocalist. Not only did she MURDER that song, but before they sang it, she went backstage and put on a F*ck!ng TIARA and came back out to sing it! WHAT THE F@C%?!!? NO, NO, NO....that is unacceptable. I left. Three songs in, over $200 dollars in tickets, gas and t-shirts, and a 4 hour drive one way...I left. Disgusted and disappointed."

And that's why I made this battle. I just HAD to know that I wasn't the only one that felt this way.
