ahhh, but he was !!!
Not the original, of course, but, he was in a) The Mummy's Curse (1944), and later that same year b) The Mummy's Ghost (1944)
He was still cool though.
Like him better as the Wolf-Man
EDIT: Mistake in the description of Lon Cahney Jr. He was not in The Mummy, that was Boris Karloff.
Both have had their fair share of classics, but you can't go past the master!
