what if the dude with the gun is stealthy to? Really you could argue circumstance either way, but in the end it goes back to this. Man first created melee weapons as tools to kill. Then they created the bow and arrow to kill at range to minimize hostile contact with the enemy. Then came the gun, which not only can you take someone out at range, but you can keep the shots going at a much more reliable rate. That is why there aren't any militaries in the world that still use melee beyond a last ditch effort. I'm sorry, but a sword no matter how stealthy you are has a huge disadvantage to a fully automatic assault rifle with over 60 rounds. Unless you have super powers like in the game that sword came from.

the gun would easily win in a battle

Never bring a sword to a gun fight. I have 6 friends and they can run faster than you. :) I like the sword though, and although that's fair game and would cause more damage, the gun will kill you quicker.
