Spider-Man vs Spider-Man 2099

Another one for the geeks. Which is cooler, the Spider-Man of present-day, or his future counterpart, the Spider-Man of the year 2099?

I should say, however - I never read Ravage past the first couple of Stan Lee written issues. So, pre-transformation Ravage sucked. I have no solid opinion about the later issues.

I'm pretty sure Josh Brolin can do anything, but I'm also sure I'd gouge my eyes out if Marvel were ever desperate enough to do a Ravage flick. One of the worst 2099 ideas, in my opinion. Ugh.

yeah, dude, he was totally half-spanish. I remember that. I actually have Spiderman/Ravage/Doom/Punisher/X-Men 2099.
The only ones that I liked were Spidey and Doom. I gotta say though, I always thought that RAVAGE was an absolute bad-ass.

PS. This goes out to Johnny_Sarcastic:
What do you think about Josh Brolin as "Ravage 2099" ???
From one nerd to another...

I am a huge spidey fan, but the original can be a bit whiney sometimes. I really love the fact that if 2099 happens to kill someone, he really doesn't lose sleep over it. That and the talons were really awesome, especially when he used them while fighting.

That said, many of the 2099 characters were kind of lame. I was a big a fan of the x-men 2099 series and even have the first three comics still. They took the x-men and put them in an even bleaker and more dangerous setting, really an impressive feat. And Bloodhawk was the MAN!

I just had to, I says. However, I genuinely like Spider-Man 2099 better than I do his original counterpart. The origin was excellent, and basically the entire run was written by Peter David, one of the best comic book writers, and drawn by Rick Leonardi, my favourite spider-artist.

He had one of the neatest origin sequences ever. I suppose that's why he's had a fan base even 'til now. He was recently on the Exiles.

That being said, even the Venom 2099 you loathe had a really great twist to it.

Does it help if I tell you that he is actually half-Mexican?

Oh and let me take this time to say, Fuck you Venom 2099. And a sincere fuck you to the Ghost Rider, the Doctor Strange, especially Thor 2099 and all the other bollucksed up iterations that were spawned from the ass of the year 2099.

Oi...why'd you do it "Red Son"... I mean nearly everyone who's going to vote on here is going to do it based solely off of asthetics. That's why nearly every battle is one waged on the warground of Boobs!

People neither respect nor understand the true nature of Spider-man, and I'm pretty sure up until now they were unaware there was a Spider-man from 2099 (and I'm sure they'll be shocked there's one from the year 1602 as well). Nor do they realize the one thing that really set 2099 apart from Spidey were his eyes and his stingers. Both of which Spidey now has.

He simply looks cooler. And that's all people care about.

"Nuff said".

I'm sure this'll be somewhat one-sided, but I had to satisfy my own geek curiosity.
